Dear Friends of the Palace,
Welcome to the official Palace Theatre Website. This historic theatre opened its
doors in January 2003 after a $3 million dollar restoration. The improvements
to this theatre have significantly expanded the quality and number of performers
that we are able to present at the Palace. The completion of Phase One of these
renovations has nearly fulfilled our vision for the establishment of a vibrant
arts and entertainment district in Downtown Albany within the Pearl Street corridor.
Renovations completed in the first phase include new carpeting, a stage curtain,
fabric wall treatments, fresh paint throughout the theatre, a restored ceiling,
and the refurbishment of over 2,800 seats. Phase Two renovations call for a new
marquee for the exterior of the theatre, based on the original 1931 marquee design.
Both individual and corporate sponsors are helping directly with renovations through
the Sponsor a Seat program. Community support is vital to the success of the theatre.
We encourage you to “sponsor a seat” and become part of history. Included
in the sponsorship is a personalized brass plaque placed on the arms of the seat
you sponsor, charter membership to the Theatre, including both advance show notification
and opportunities to purchase tickets, as well as a listing on the Donor page
in the Playbill for one season. (click
here for more information)
The Palace Theatre will host a wide variety of performances including classical,
jazz and Broadway productions. Many fantastic performers will appear at the Palace
this season (click here for event listings).
The Palace Theatre welcomes large group sales and offers discounted rates for
select shows. For more information on sponsoring a seat, group sales or upcoming
shows please explore this site or call (518) 465-3335.
I hope that you have an opportunity to visit this historic theatre and attend
a performance. Thank you for your support of the exciting new developments that
we are implementing in downtown Albany.
Sincerely,

Gerald D. Jennings
Mayor
